Austin Facial Plastic Surgeon Anthony Bittar provides a variety of cosmetic surgery, as well as non-surgical techniques, including photo rejuvenation, z-plasty, deep peels, and laser skin resurfacing techniques, to improve the appearance of scars. Whether patients suffer from acne scarring, surgical scars, or any other type of protruding or depressed scar, Dr. Bittar has a solution that will reduce the intensity of the scar and, in some cases, cause the scar to disappear entirely. The type of treatment, number of treatments and results that can be expected will be discussed once Dr. Bittar has examined the scar.
More about Scar Revision with Dr. Bittar
In practice for more than 30 years, Dr. Bittar understands the significance of this kind of corrective plastic surgery for his patients. For clients in need of scar revision, scheduling a consultation with Dr. Bittar is the first step toward regaining scar-free skin. Eligible scar revision candidates should be over 18 with “mature” scars that are at least six months old. As with all non-surgical rejuvenation and plastic surgery procedures, candidates should be in relatively good health before considering services with Dr. Bittar. Clients are welcome to explore all options and ask questions during their initial consultation with Dr. Bittar.
What will my results look like?
Only those who have experienced living with a scar can understand their potential for causing embarrassment and self-consciousness. As a specialist in this area with decades of satisfied clients treated at his practice, Dr. Bittar employs state-of-the-art techniques to minimize your scarring and ensure the best possible results. Whether you are looking into hiding a small or large scar on your face or body, Dr. Bittar can advise you on the latest techniques and tools to get the results you seek. Though each patient is different, our large collection of before-and-after photos can help you to visualize the full potential of this procedure.
How long does recovery take?
Recovery from scar revision depends on the type of procedure that is performed. Patients with deep or severe scars who undergo surgery may experience minor bruising and/or swelling in the week following surgery, which is likely to resolve itself fully within a couple of weeks. Clients who receive non-surgical treatments, such as laser resurfacing or chemical peels, may experience mild to moderate burning, redness and/or irritation at the treatment site. In addition, some patients may experience minor irritation of the skin surrounding the site of the scar revision. Whatever treatment you choose, our team of healthcare specialists at Beau Visage is here to provide full support during the recovery process.
